FAQ

Does temperature affect the Biocritters bioremediation process?
Biocritters efficiency rates are not affected by warm weather. Freezing temperatures rupture the cell walls of the microbes, although even freezing temperatures do not necessarily preclude a winter BioTreatment. Catalina Biosolutions has applied Biocritters in blizzards with excellent results by inoculating below the frost line where bioremediation can still occur.

How do the Microbes clean grease traps, lift stations, and sewage?
The microbes eliminate contamination through a digestive process. They eat away what they are put into contact with. Fats, oils, and greases are reduced and often eliminated.

What is left when the Biocritters are finished degrading the contaminant?
The by-products of the bioremediation process are carbon dioxide, water and trace elements of fatty acids.

Does Catalina Biosolutions use any artificial or genetically modified organisms?
No. Biocritters comprises a consortium of naturally-occurring microbes found in soil and water throughout the world. All the microbial products in Biocritters are found in the Berges Manual.

Are Catalina Biosolutions’ Biocritters and supplementary products dangerous in any way?
No. All of our bioremediation products are environmentally safe and can be handled safely. Biocritters are Safety Level I and are non-pathogenic and non-opportunistic.

What is Catalina Biosolutions’ success rate?
Throughout the past 20 years of working within the bioremediation industry, our customer satisfaction rate remains 100%. It is usual for sites treated with Biocritters to reach full closure on the first attempt, and Catalina Biosolutions will provide unlimited technical support throughout the project to ensure complete site closure.
